How We Work

 

 

We offer workshops covering a wide variety of topics that are all geared towards promoting a more positive lifestyle. Our workshops are primarily delivered by telephone conference and are offered as weekly group meetings or private sessions. Our private sessions are offered in person as well in the New York tri-state area and arrangements can be made at other locations. To get a flavor for what we are about and a sense of how the workshops run you can start off by calling into a free introduction.

 

 

At our first meeting you will work with your workshop leader to formulate a "mission" for the program and given the opportunity to partner with another person in your group, so that your experience at Positive Living is a collaborative one (in private sessions you will collaborate one-on-one with your workshop leader). In subsequent meetings you will begin the session by reviewing your progress since the last meeting and encouraged to recognize and celebrate accomplishments made over the previous week. This will be highlighted by a "Positive Barrage," where a featured member of the group (in private sessions, of course, you are always the featured member) shares their experience from the previous week and then listens for 3 minutes as the rest of the group offers positive and congratulatory feedback. Your workshop leader will then introduce new material and activities, which will comprise the bulk of the meeting. The workshops conclude by outlining a "Plan for Change" and reaffirming your ability and commitment to creating a "positive existence".
